Dwight Ball Liberals still enjoy two-thirds support: new CRA poll

A new poll suggests theres still strong support for the new Liberal government in Newfoundland and Labrador, more than three months after their election.

A new poll suggests there's still strong support for the new Liberal government in Newfoundland and Labrador, more than three months after their election.

A Corporate Research Associates poll found that 66 per cent of those surveyedsupport the provincial Liberals, compared with 67 per cent in November.

Nearly two-thirds weresatisfied with the new government's performance (64 per cent), while 26 per cent weredissatisfied. Three per cent saidit's too soon to tell.

New premier Dwight Ball's popularity was at 53 per cent, slightly higher than his 50 per cent approval rating in November.

Three months after losing power, the Progressive Conservative party had23 per cent support, compared with 22 per cent in November.

The New Democrats remained in third place, with support from 11per cent of the people surveyed. while eightper cent support the NDP leader, Earle McCurdy.

Another 21 per cent of those surveyed said they aren't sure who they support.

The poll surveyed 813 adults in Newfoundland and Labrador, who were contacted by telephonebetween February 4 and March 9.
