A small library in therural Newfoundland community of Old Perlican has a special employee that sets it apart from the rest:a tuxedo cat named Oreo, who has made the library her full-time home.

By day, Oreo brings smiles to the faces ofOld Perlican Public Library patrons like Isaac Doyle, 6, who comes specifically to pay her visits.

By night, she oversees the premises and sleeps on a soft floor mat or in her sweater-lined box. "She might read cat books," Isaac suspects.

"She just brings happiness when they walk through the doors," said librarian Cathy Hatch.
