Police looking for witnesses to fire, alleged murder in Carbonear

Harbour Grace RCMP have sent out a call for witnesses who may have been at the scene of a house fire in Carbonear last week where the body of five-year-old Quinn Butt was found in an alleged murder.

Harbour Grace RCMP have sent out a call for witnesseswho may have been at the scene ofa house firein Carbonear last week where the body offive-year-old Quinn Butt was found in an allegedmurder.

Police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed something before fire crews or police arrived at 12 HaydenHeights around 5 a.m.

Anyone with information is asked to call the local RCMP detachment at 709-596-5014.

Quinn's father, Trent Butt, was formallycharged with first-degreemurder on Tuesday. He wasinside the home when emergency crews arrived on Sunday, and remains in hospital in serious condition.

Police also allegethat Butt set fire to the homebutsaid they're not sayinghow the girl died and are continuingto investigate.
