For the second day in a row, Raymond Stacey was too ill to stand trial for the killing of Clifford Comerford.

Newfoundland and Labrador Supreme Court Justice Garrett Handrigan, the presiding judge, told the jury he hopes the trial will resume Thursday.

The court broke for a recess, with plans for the prosecution to deliver opening remarks in the afternoon.

But when the jury came back to the courtroom, they were informed proceedings would be delayed for the accused'sunspecified illness.

Handrigan gave no indication of Stacey's condition again on Wednesday.

Stacey, 25, is accused of fatally stabbing a co-worker, CliffordComerford, in Mount Pearl in January 2015.
