Accused killer Raymond Stacey resumes preliminary hearing in St. John's

A man accused of stabbing his co-worker to death in January appeared in a St. John's court Monday for the resumption of his preliminary inquiry.

A man accused of stabbing his co-worker to death in January appeared in a St. John's court Monday for the resumptionof his preliminary inquiry.

Raymond Stacey, 24, is alleged to have stabbed Clifford Comerford, 41,inside a minivan that was transporting them both to work at a chicken barn.

The two were employed bya contractor doing work at the Country Ribbon facility near Paddy's Pond.

Stacey is facing a charge of second-degree murder.

Paramedics and police were called to Greenwood Crescent off Topsail Roadacross from the former Sobeys Square mall on the night thatComerford was stabbed.

He later died in hospital.

The preliminary hearing to determine whether or not thereis enough evidence to go to trial began in July, with many breaks along the way.

It's slated to lastthree days this week.
