Shea Heights fire under investigation

A fire at a residence on Learning Road in the Shea Heights area of St. John's is being investigated by fire officials.

Police and fire crews were called to the blaze around 9:15 Friday night.

St. John's Regional Fire Department officials say the fire started in the basement.

The blaze was quickly contained, but the home sustained considerable damage.

The home owner told CBC News there was nobody living in the house at the time of the fire.

Police said there were no injuries were reported.
