Smoking school bus prompts RCMP response near Reefs Harbour

Police believe amechanical issue caused smoke to come from a school bus on the Northern Peninsula on Wednesday.

The Port Saunders RCMPdetachment said they were called to the scene of the smoking bus on Route 430, near Reefs Harbour,at about 3:45 p.m.

No children were injured, and they've all been picked up by parents, police say.

The incident is believed to be mechanical in nature, but the police investigation is still underway.
