Fugitive returned to St. John's

A man wanted over a 2009 home invasion was returned in handcuffs to St. John's on Monday night, after being arrested in Calgary.

A man wantedin connection witha 2009 home invasion was returned in handcuffs to St. John's on Monday night, after being arrested in Calgary.

Stephen Clowe had been sought by police for two years, and faces charges in an April 2009 incident at a home on MacKenzie Street that saw a 60-year-old man beaten.

Clowe was one of five people charged over the incident.

He was charged in April 2009 with break and enter, armed robbery, forcible confinement, aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

Clowe is expected to appear in provincial court in St. John's on Tuesday.

Police said the home invasion was drug-related.
