Dirty needles dumped in walking area in Bonavista

Dirty needles and other medical supplies have been found dumped on Lance Cove Road in Bonavista, in an area popular with pedestrians, pet owners and ATV users.

Used diabetic supplies, including exposed needles, covers, safety tabs and test strips were found on Lance Cove Road in Bonavista. (RCMP)

Dirty needles and other medical supplieshave been found dumped on Lance Cove Road in Bonavista, in an area popular withpedestrians, pet owners and ATV users.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police responded to a call about the used needles around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The debris wasdetermined to be used diabetic supplies, andincluded exposed needles, covers, safety tabsand test strips.

Police believe they were dumped sometime Wednesday evening or Thursday.

The RCMP said volunteers helped clean up the area andit is safe to use.
