A young woman is selling jewellery and handbags in Ottawa today, hoping to raise enough money to fund a Nunavut school's breakfast program for a year.

Eva von Jagow started the All That Glam fundraiser three years agowhen she was in Grade 12after learning about high food prices in the North. She teamed up with the Breakfast Club of Canada, who suggested helping Coral Harbour's Sakku School.

Von Jagow hopes thatSaturday's sale will raise $10,000, enough to fund the program for one year.

When von Jagowfirst learned that kids in Canada were going hungry on a regular basis, she was shocked.

"I never thought of Canada in that light. That they [kids]weren't getting the nutrition that they needed, it didn't seem fair to me," said the 19-year-old, who studies atMcGillUniversity.

"I couldn't imagine going to school hungry or malnourished or not getting all my fruits and veggies each day."

Von Jagow was helping organize her mother's jewellery box when she came up with the idea for the accessories sale.

"We knew right away where we wanted the money to go," she said.

The annual fundraiser includes everything from costume jewellery to higher-end items, which are placed in a silent auction.

This year's silent auction will also includeartwork from Coral Harbour students.

"I just think it would be a really cool opportunity for them to show us a little bit about themselves, their culture and where the money is going," said von Jagow.

All that Glam takes place Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ottawa's Richcraft Recreation Complex.
