Caf coming soon to new Iqaluit convenience store

The Qikiqtaaluk Corporation opened Iqaluit's newest convenience store in the Plateau area on Friday, with an attached caf opening in two weeks.

The Qikiqtaaluk Corporation openedIqaluit's newest convenience store in the Plateau subdivisionon Friday.

It has groceries, basic household items and an ATM.

Scott Clark, Qikiqtaaluk Corporation's director of sales and marketing, saidthe store's prices will be competitive.

"Our goal is to offer a full-variety at a very, very convenient price 365 days of the year."

Many people in Iqaluit are more excited about what's opening next door in two weeks. Attached to the convenience storewill be a new caf.

Clark saidit will have all the Starbucks-type specialty drinks that are available in southern Canada.

He addedthat the new cafe and store may mean more jobs for Inuit youth.
