A company in Yellowknife is tapping into the territory's diverse culture to give people a unique floating dinner theatre adventure.

Cathy Allooloo has been teaching and providing paddling toursfor 30 years. Now that her children have grown up, she decided to use their skills to bring the family closer.

"I'm looking for ways to help them understand and appreciate, and celebrate being an Aboriginal young person in Canada. So what better way than to research the history of the area?" Allooloo said.

Allooloo and her family take paddlers on a three hour tour of Back Bay and Old Town, beforesettling in for some moose stew and bannock. Then daughter Tiffany shares some Inuit legends.

"I went to school as an actor and just wanted to look for ways to incorporate, you know, what I do at school with what I like to do in Yellowknife, which is be outside."

While this season is over, Allooloo said they'll be back on the water next summer.
