Dance Dance Graduation: Inuit class shows off its moves

An oft-used graduation song like Pomp and Circumstance just wasn't going to cut it for students of Nunavut Sivuniksavut - instead they performed a crowd-pleasing traditional dance.

An oft-usedgraduation song like Pomp and Circumstancejust wasn't going to cut it for these students.

Young Northerngraduates of Nunavut Sivuniksavut, an Ottawa-based junior college offering courses on Inuit history and culture, performed a crowd-pleasing traditional dance during their certificate-granting ceremony last week.

Madeleine Allakariallak, the host of Nunavut's supper-hour TV news program Igalaaq, filmed and tweeted footage of the students'rousing finish at the Wabano Aboriginal Health Centre in Ottawa on May 15.

The performance ofthedrum dancereceived raves on Twitter.
