Frozen Globe Awards honour northern businesses

Several northern businesses and entrepreneurs were honoured at the third annual Frozen Globe Awards held in Iqaluit Thursday night.

The winners include:

People's Choice Award Arctic Circle Dental Clinic in Iqaluit and the Angellina's Toy Boutique in Whitehorse. (This was the boutique that sold hand-made wooden blocks made by a 5-year-old.)

Best Aboriginal Business BBE Expediting Ltd., also known asBraden-BurryExpediting, in Yellowknife.

Best Marketing Campaign Air North in Whitehorse.

Best New Business Saimavik Studio, Iqaluit's first yoga studio.

Most Innovative Business GroundTruth Exploration in Dawson, Yukon, which specializes in new and more environmentally-friendly ways to explore for minerals.

Best Large Business of the Year Northern Vision Developments in Whitehorse.

Nunavut Entrepreneur of the Year Inhabit Media in Iqaluit, which started out publishing children's books in English and Inuktitut and has expanded to biographies, memoirs and history.

N.W.T. Entrepreneur of the Year Global Storm in Yellowknife.

Top Northern Entrepreneur of the Year Canadian River Expeditions in Whitehorse.
