Dispute at Hay River, N.W.T., home led to fire, RCMP say

In a Facebook post, the Town of Hay River told residents to stay away from the area to allow crews to do their work.

RCMP say one person had minor injuries, fire is under investigation

A house in Hay River,N.W.T. has been consumed by fire.

The fire happened at a residence in Rowes Trailer Court, near the Legion.

In a Facebook post, the Town of Hay River told residents to stay away from the area to allow crews to do their work.

RCMP say they received a call around 7:18 a.m. on Friday about a disturbance at a residence on Woodland Drive.

One person was transported from the residence with "minor injuries" and the home is a total loss,RCMP said.

They also said an initial investigation determined "a fight between individuals precipitated the fire."

The disturbance and the fire are still under investigation.
