Hunter Tootoo's office says there's no word when the Nunavut MP will return to work, "as he continues on the road to recovery."

His office released a statement to CBC on Mondaydetailing how Tootoo's constituents can connect with his staffshould they need help with federal issues,given that his Iqaluit office is still shuttered.

Tootoo suddenly resigned from his position as minister of fisheries, oceans and the Canadian Coast Guardat the end of May in order to seek treatment for addiction issues. He also left the Liberal caucus but remains Nunavut's member of Parliament.

Tootoo's office in Ottawa is still open and has full time staff available during regular business hours, according to thestatement. It says constituents in Nunavut can contact theoffice if they need assistance with federal programs, like citizenship inquires, passport issues or pension plans.

"At this time, there is no update on the expected return of Hunter Tootoo to his office," the statement reads.

"He thanks his constituents for their understanding and support, and for respecting his request for privacy at this difficult time."
