Long stretch of Highway 1 closes in the N.W.T.

A long stretch of Highway 1 in the Northwest Territories was closed as of late Monday afternoon,according to an update from the Department of Infrastructure.

A long stretch of Highway 1 in the Northwest Territories was closed as of late Monday afternoon,according to an update from the Department of Infrastructure.

According to the department, the highway is closedbetween kilometre188 and kilometre457, meaning almost the whole stretch of Highway 1 west of the Highway 3 intersection to Fort Simpson is closed.

The department said road closures can change at any time.
