Man charged with driving drunk at more than twice legal limit

Police in Whitehorse arrested an impaired driver Sunday night whose breath samples they say were two and half times over the legal alcohol limit.

Police arrested an impaired driver in downtown Whitehorse Sunday nightwhose breath samples they say were two and half times over the legal alcohol limit.

RCMP say they received a call from a member of the public that led to the arrest.

The caller reported seeing a Dodge Ram pick-up truck driving erratically north on Fourth Avenue towards Two Mile Hill at around 10 p.m.

A few minutes later, police located the vehicle on Fourth Avenue between Chilkoot Way and Second Avenue.

A39-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving and impaired driving over 0.08 per cent blood alcohol concentration. Police also impounded the vehicle.
