Missing Iqaluit hunter fell through ice and drowned, say RCMP

A 68-year-old Iqaluit man who failed to return from a hunting trip on Saturday is presumed to have fallen through ice and drowned, say RCMP.

Search and Rescue volunteers found man's belongings on Frobisher Bay

An Iqaluit man who failed to return from a hunting trip on Saturday is presumed to have fallen through ice and drowned, say RCMP.

Iqaluit Search and Rescue was alertedaround 11 p.m. Saturday whenthe 68-year-old man was late returning from hunting, a news release says.

Search and Rescue volunteers found the man'sbelongings Sunday at around 1 p.m. about30 km south of Iqaluit on Frobisher Bay.

RCMPsay evidence at the scene led investigators to believe the manfell through the ice, and he is presumed drowned.
