Heading back to the house

Saskatchewan's finances are expected to dominate the upcoming session of the legislature. It begins March 14th.

Saskatchewan's finances are expected to dominate the upcoming session of the legislature. It begins March 14th.

The Opposition says it will focus on the government's record on economic development during the upcoming session.

Lorne Calvert says he'll be giving his attention to economic development, the financial situation facing the province and the government's action plan for health care changes.

Milt Wakefield, the Opposition's critic on Economic Development says Saskatchewan is continually losing jobs and people are leaving the province.

"Those are the taxpayers that we need to continue the infrastructure needs of this province," says Wakefield. "If we haven't got taxpayers, we haven't got the money resources for health, for education, for crime prevention. Those are the things that we have to talk about in this session."

The Premier says he looks forward to that discussion. At the same time, Lorne Calvert says he'll be looking for answers from the Saskatchewan Party about its plan for economic growth.
