Pedestrian struck by SUV on Whitehorse's Fourth Avenue

A man is in hospital in critical condition after being struck by an SUV Wednesday morning in Whitehorse.

A man is in hospital in critical condition after being struck by an SUV Wednesday morning in Whitehorse.

The man was crossing Fourth Avenue between Second Avenue and RayStreet at about 11:20 a.m. when police say he was struck by a small-size SUV.

He was taken byambulance to Whitehorse General Hospital.

RCMP say the driver of the SUV was determined to be sober and is co-operating with the investigation.

Policeclosed Fourth Avenue between Second Avenue and Ray Street to conduct their investigation. The investigation is ongoing.

Police ask anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the detachmentat 667-5551.
