RCMP say they're treating the death of a Whitehorse man as suspicious.

Greg Alvin Dawson, 45, was found dead on April 6 in the Riverdale area. Police say an autopsy was performed several days later.

"The results indicated that foul play could not be ruled out," an RCMP news release said.

Police were seen going door-to-door on Alsek Road days after Dawson's death. RCMP say investigators canvassed the Riverdale neighbourhood to speak with "anyone who mayhave witnessed suspicious activity in the area prior to Mr. Dawson's death."

The Yukon RCMP Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation.

RCMP are asking anyone with information on Dawson's activities or whereabouts in the days leading up to his death to contact them at 867-667-5555.
