"It hits really hard when we are building for the community and then all of our tools were carried off," says Johnson.

"I want those people who stole my tools to sit down on my benchesin theglass blowing studio and blow glass with me. I want to talk withthem. It sounds sappy, but what could we have given them as a society so that they would neverdo thatin the first place?"

Johnson says many of the tools have sentimental value.

"It's a family tradition that my kids give me tools for Mother's Day," she says.

Johnson says her tools are clearly marked "Lumel Studios."

Construction atthe studio iscontinuingwith tools donated by local contractors.
