Yellowknife shop offers free coffee to people in uniform

The owners of a coffee shop in Yellowknife are showing their appreciation to people in uniform by offering them free coffee or tea until the end of the year.

'We want to make clear that not all Muslims are bad,' says Javaroma co-owner

The owners of a coffee shop in Yellowknife are showing their appreciationto people in uniform by offering them a free coffee or tea.

The owners of the shop are Muslim and co-ownerRami Kassem says itwas the shooting of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo in Ottawa that spurred them to make the offer to people who protect the community, including soldiers, policeand security guards.

"If somebody has bad intentions or he's misled or brainwashed, it doesn't mean everybody's the same," he said. "So we want to make clear that not all Muslims are bad."

Kassem says people can get their free tea or coffee by showing up in uniformor presenting their ID. The offer lasts until Dec. 31.
