It was -33C when the photo of this sundog was taken in Dawson City. CBC North's meteorologist Bradlyn Oakes says sundogs appear as areas of light at 22 degrees from the sun, either on the left, right or both. They occur due to light refracting in cirrus clouds. An amazing sunset over Madeleine Lake, N.W.T. "My fianc and I just went out on the canoe and when the sun started setting, the whole sky just turned orange/pink. Ive never seen such vibrant colours.
