RCMP go door-to-door in Whitehorse neighbourhood in wake of man's sudden death

Police were seen going to houses on Alsek Road on Tuesday morning, following a sudden death at a home in that neighbourhood last week.

Police wereseen going door-to-door on AlsekRoad on Tuesday morning, following a sudden death at a home in Riverdalelast week.

The Yukon RCMPsays it was alerted to the death of a man in the Riverdale area on the evening of April 6. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered the body of a 45-year-old man.

In a statement, the RCMP said thatits major crimes unit is investigating, along with the Yukon Coroner's Service. An autopsy has beenordered.

The RCMPhas not released the name of the mannor details about the circumstancesof his death, other than to say there is norisk to the public.

A Riverdale residentconfirmed police had been at her door asking if she'd seen anything suspicious in the area.
