Body found near Africville Park in Halifax

Police are investigating after a body was found nearAfricville Park on Monday.

At 12:09 p.m., a woman walking along AfricvilleRoad noticed a body in the ditch and called police, said Halifax Regional Police spokesperson Theresa Rath.

Officers went to the scene and found the body of aman in the ditch on Africville Road, halfway between the church and the container terminal.

Police blocked off Africville Road near Barrington Streetto the Windsor Street Exchange. No traffic is allowed through.

Theres no estimate on when the roadwill reopen.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area of AfricvilleRoad on Monday to call them or Crime Stoppers.
