Dodge Charger sought in murder of Matthew Thomas Sudds

Police in Halifax are asking for the public's help to locate a black Dodge Charger that may beconnected to the murder of Matthew Thomas Sudds.

Sudds' body was found on Africville Road, halfway between the Africville Museum and the Fairview Cove container terminal last October. The grisly discovery led to the overnight closure of the road between Barrington Street to the Windsor Street Exchange.

Investigators have said the 24-year-old man was last seen by friends on Oct. 10. They believe Sudds was shot to death later that same day.

Now, police are looking for witnesses who may have seen a newer model black Dodge Charger with an out-of-province licence plate on Africville Road after 6 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Halifax Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.

In 2012, Sudds was on the most-wanted list for the Halifax Regional Police, for assault and failing to comply with conditions. He was arrested in May 2012 by the Bridgewater Police Service and was scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 1 to face charges of possessing a weapon.

Sudds also had another court appearance scheduled in January 2014 to deal with two charges of assault.
