Frank Magazine employee charged in publication ban breach in Catherine Campbell case

An employee at Frank Magazine in Halifax has been charged withbreaching apublicationban for a story the satire and gossip tabloidwrote in relation to the Catherine Campbell murder case.

Frank Magazine published a story to their subscription-only website on July 11, the same day as the preliminary inquirybegan into the Truro police officer's murder trial.

The information included in the story was subsequently the subject of a court-ordered publication ban and sealing order.

The Frank Magazine story then appeared in print form on newsstands two days later on July 13.

"Any time police become aware of a violation of a court order, which is the publication ban, we do investigate that and we take it very seriously," said Const. Alicia Joseph.

Police notified the 39-year-old Halifax man of the charges on Tuesday at a residence on Katrina Crescent.

The man is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court to face charges at a later date.

Christopher Calvin Garnier is charged with second-degree murderin the death of Campbell, who had served as a Truro police constablefor six years before her death.
