A script written by a young Halifax man for a third Ghostbusters film has goneviral. The problem is it isnt an official script.

As a Ghostbusters fan, filmmaker Sean Grady decided to write a script for fun. Last week, he was looking for his work to be critiqued, so he posted it online.

To get attention, Grady became a ghost writer and gave the writing credits to the men who are working on the real script. It was a technique he said a fan used when they wrote a Batman script years ago.

But within days, the whole thing blew up bigger than the Stay Puft Marsmallow Man.

Fans pored over the pages and shared their thoughts on the script. Grady was overwhelmed and shocked that the script was shared everywhere.

One website even reached out to a studio executive who confirmed it was one of the drafts.

And I was a little confused when that happened because Im pretty sure I wasnt paidby Sony Pictures to write one of the drafts, said Grady.

When one of the writers working on the real film said hed never seen the script before, Grady came clean.

He says that if the film company was interested in obtaining his script, he would talk to them.

Id consider talking, said a deadpanning Grady. Yes, of course.

So, how would Gradys imaginary version of Ghostbusters 3 end? The main characters would sacrifice themselves to save the city and six months later, they would be shown playing cards in a building as ghosts.

And the final line of the script was Murray looking to the janitor and saying, Don't tell the health inspector, said Grady.
