Halifax police seize guns, drugs after multiple searches

Three people are facing charges of drug possession as well as weapons offences after multiple home and vehicle searches last weekend.

Three people are facing charges of drug possession as well asweapons offences after multiple home and vehicle searches last weekend.

Police say they searched two vehicles last Friday around 6:50 p.m.The vehicles were in a parking lot near the 3400-block of Joseph Howe Drive.Marijuana, cannabis resin and cash were seized.

Two men, aged 27 and 26, were arrested at the scene without incident.

About 10 minutes later, as the investigation continued, a24-year-old woman was arrested outside a home located at the 300-block of Kearney Lake Road. After searching her vehicle, police say marijuana, MDMA, drug paraphernalia and cash were seized.

The next day, police searched the Kearney Lake home around 1 a.m. and found cocaine, four hand guns and more marijuana.Six hours later, police searched a home on St. Paul Streetand seized cocaine, cash and three rifles.

The three in custody face multiple charges including drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of marijuana and and firearms offences.
