When the government released its budget in March, the first phase of the infrastructure spending plan included almost $12 billion in new infrastructure spending and kepta $65-billion program introduced bythe former Conservative government.

An announcement and a barbecue

In Nova Scotia, initial infrastructure spending is going toward things such as buses, ferries and harbours. In the last month, the federal government has announced more than $60 million toward upgrades at small craft harbours in the province.

Trudeau is scheduled to be in Jubilee Park in the morning, before travelling to Pictou Countytoattend a barbecue. According to a posting on Central Nova MP Sean Fraser'sFacebook page, the barbeque is taking place at 11:30 a.m. at Glasgow Square in New Glasgow.
