RCMP charge man after teen sexually assaulted at Fall River grocery store

RCMPsay they have charged a 25-year-old man with multiple offences including sexual assault after ateenager was sexually assaulted at a store in Fall River, N.S.

Halifax District RCMP and Halifax Regional Police apprehended the man in Bedford at about 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, with help from a police dog. He was held in custody overnight and was scheduled to appear at Dartmouth provincial court on Friday.

Halifax District RCMP say they received a call about the incident, which occurred at a grocery store on Highway 2, at around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

They were told thatthree youths and a woman had been shopping when one of the youths was groped by a man,who then quickly left the store.

One involved a man driving a red Hyundai Elantrawho was followingagirl that was walking on Wilson Lake Drive in Middle Sackville on Thursday at around 11:35 a.m. Police said the man got out of his car and started taking pictures of the girl while walking toward her.

Police said a witness intervened and drove the girl to agas station, but theman found the girl again and took more photos of her before drivingaway.

At around 3 p.m. onThursday, police said a woman was at a park on Highway 1 in Mount Uniacke when she saw a mantaking pictures of her from the bushes. The woman got in her car and left, but police saidthe man followed her through Bedford and Bayer's Lake before she was eventually able to lose him.

At 8 p.m. on Thursday, police said they found an unoccupied red Hyundai Elantrain a parking lot in Bedford. They located him about 20 minutes later. He has been charged with the following:

• Sexual assault.
• Sexual interference.
• Criminal harassment.
• Failure to comply with conditions of an undertaking.
• Breach of recognizance.
