Stock Bus Tracker tells Halifax students when bus will come

A new school-bus tracking app lets parents and students know exactly when their bus is coming in the Halifax Regional School Board district.

A new school-bus tracking app lets parents and students know exactly when their bus is coming in the Halifax Regional School Board district.

The Stock Bus Tracker app will soon be available in Conseil scolaire acadien provincial (the French school board) and eventually the Annapolis Valley Regional School Board.

Troy Phinney of Stock Transportation said the free app tracks buses in "near real time."

"This app would come in handy during inclement weather days when traffic patterns are slowing down and people are wondering if the bus is going to be on time or not," he said. "It gives them the ability to check to see exactly where the bus is relative to their stop."

Students and parents can download the app and set up an account by logging in with the student's provincial student identification number.

The Stock Bus Tracker is free to download.
