Wes Booth brings #bluenoserbychoice to Cape Breton

A Nova Scotian hitchhiking across the province brought his social media campaign, dubbed #bluenoserbychoice, to Cape Breton on Friday.

Wes Booth painted his nose blue and set out to get to know Nova Scotia better this summer. He started an organization called We Are Nova Scotiato connect people in different parts of the province.

"It's an independent, grassroots project that I've been working on over the summer," the 24-year-oldsaid.

"We're seeking out positive stories that are happening in our province today and we're trying to empower them through social media with the hopes to inspire other communities and other people andbusinesses to take action and spread a more positive message."

The Wolfville man spent time in Tatamagouche recently, meeting people and painting their noses blue. He'sgetting them to post the photos online with the #bluenoserbychoicehashtag.

He wants to "change the narrative" for the province.

He went to River John to learn about a local attempt to save a school.

"I'm currently unemployed and broke, so any help would be greatly appreciated," he said in a YouTube video.

He's travelling for about three weeks in total. He's been on the road for about a week.
