Cape Breton police arrest woman wanted on warrant

A woman wanted on a warrant for allegedly evading Cape Breton Regional Police and nearly striking an officer with a vehicle on Monday is now in custody.

A woman wanted on a warrant for allegedly evading Cape Breton Regional Police and nearly striking an officer with a vehicle on Monday is now in custody.

Police said Courtney Reid Boone was arrested around 8:30 p.m. AT Tuesday at a residence on Old Kings Road in Sydney.

Police say they attempted to take Courtney Reid Boone into custodyMonday night outside a Warren Street address in Sydney.

As a street crime officer approached, Boone allegedly sped out of a driveway nearly striking the officer and swipinga police vehicle before driving away, police say.

She faces charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle, assault with a weapon (a vehicle), flight from police, failureto attend court and breaches ofprevious conditions of her release.

Boone willappear on charges in Sydney provincial court Wednesday morning.
