Beacon Hill-Cyrville: #CBCStreetTalk in Ward 11

From Sept. 22 to Oct. 23, CBC Ottawa will visit the 23 electoral wards in the city of Ottawa to get the inside track on the issues people are talking about on the eve of the upcoming municipal election.

On September 25, the CBC Street Talk team visitedBeacon Hill-Cyrvilleward to hear directly from you what are the major issues in your ward? What could make your ward a better place to live?

Beacon Hill - Cyrville is an East end ward that extends as far north as the Ottawa River, and just south of the Cyrville Road and Innes Road intersection.Green's Creek, Highway 417, and Blair Road bound the Ward on the east. The wardincludes the infamous "split" that you might hear Ottawa Morning's Dave Brown talk about in his traffic reports.

Rothwell Heights, Beacon Hill and Pineview are some of the neighbourhoods within this ward's boundaries.

In the 2010 municipal election44 per cent of eligible voters turned out to vote- in line with the city wide average.

Michel Bellemare held the riding for 16 years but in 2010 he was replaced by council newcomer Tim Tierney. Tierney is againrunning for office.
