Fire claims Ottawa Christmas tree barn

A two-alarm fire tore through a Christmas tree farm's barn near Ottawa Friday night.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at JC's Orchard on Moodie Drive at Fallowfield Road, near Barrhaven around 10 p.m.

Firefighters suspect that, shortly after they arrived, a propane tank exploded, claiming the entire building and its contents.

Firefighters estimated around $100,000 worth of damage was done.

Nobody was injured, and firefighters said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
