Motorcyclist dead in single-vehicle crash in Aylmer

Police in Gatineau, Que., say a 19-year-old man was killed while riding a motorcycle on boulevard des Allumettires in the city's western Aylmersector early Wednesday morning.

In a news release, police said officers were called around 3 a.m. to a single-vehicle crash betweenboulevard Wilfrid-Lavigne and rue Samuel-Edey.

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene. Police saidthey won't release his name out of respect for his family.

Eastbounddes Allumetireswas closed in the area until around 11:20 a.m., police said.
