Keith Urban makes country fan's dream come true at Bluesfest

An 18-year-old country fan from east Ottawa, known on Twitter as #SamfromOrleans, had his dream come true when country star Keith Urban invited him to sing on stage at Bluesfest.

Sam Cudmore's musical dream came true Thursday night when he was invited on stage at Ottawa Bluesfest by country musician Keith Urban.

Country star Keith Urban made an 18-year-old country fan's day, month and year when heinvited him to sing on stage at Bluesfest.

Sam Cudmore was in the front row for Thursday night's concert at Ottawa Bluesfest whenUrban pulled him on stage to sing his hit song"Kiss a Girl."

"My girlfriend and a few of my friends that Iwas there with, because we were in the front row, just started pointing at me and Iwas jumping around," Cudmoresaid.

"He's like, 'Can you sing?'And I was like, 'I guess I'll find out,'and then he called me up and gave me the mic."

AfterCudmoreintroduced himself to Urban and the crowd,Twitter named him using thehashtag#SamfromOrleans.

'Pretty surreal' experience

On Friday morning, while running on adrenalineafter less than four hours of sleep, Cudmore said the whole experience was a whirlwind.

"It's pretty surreal. It almost hasn't even registered that it happened," Cudmore said.

"That's going to be with me for the rest of my life, I can guarantee that."

Cudmoresaid standing next to Urban taught himthe musician is not as tall as he thought.

"I've had a lot of people asking if he smelled good, did I touch his hair? I didn't do any of that but he's super nice, he seemed really cool," he said.

After the show, Urban recounted his Bluesfest concert as he does after each showin a post-concert video.
