Montebello Rockfest outraged after porn movie filmed on site

The organizers of Montebello Rockfest say they are very upset after learning a porn movie was filmed at their festival in June 2014, unbeknownst to them.

The organizers of a western Quebec music festival say they're outraged to learn a pornographic movie was filmed, unbeknownst to them, on its grounds in June 2014.

The president and founder of the festival, Alex Martel, says the method used by the production company and the nature of the film in question is upsetting for the festival, which has faced criticism in the past.

Martel said he wasn't happy, but also not surprised because the Rockfest has gained a lot of notoriety. He said many people want to take advantage of the festival's reputation.

In 2013, attendees criticized the festival for its "chaotic" site.

The film producers, meanwhile, defend themselves by saying the project involves consenting adults.

The production company behind the project, AD4X Videos, has tried a similar thing before at the Festival Western de Saint-Tite.

Festivalpermission not necessary, production company says

According to the president of the company, Andr de la Seine, all participants were adults and fully understood they would be filmed and broadcast.

The 2013 version of the Amnesia Rockfest in Montebello left behind a trail of garbage and damaged grounds.
De la Seine also told Radio-Canada there was no need to ask permission of the Rockfest organizers because the shooting of the film took place on private land.

Rockfest organizers have also learned 12 festivalgoers participated in the film after they were recruited by the main actress, Pamela Kayne, and filmmakers.

Martel said he has consulted a lawyer because the film does mention Rockfest.

Organizers also said 150 workers will watch out for similar suspicious activity during this year's festival, which runs from June 18 to 20, 2015. They admitted it is difficult to monitor the 5,000 tents on site as festivalgoers camp when they attend.
