Ontario Votes 2022: Bay of Quinte

The race in Bay of Quinte features an incumbent facing off against five challengers.

PCs, NDP got nearly 80 per cent of votes in 2018

The race in Bay of Quinte features an incumbenttrying to reach a fourth term in office.

Progressive Conservative Todd Smith won this riding in 2018 by more than 8,000 votes over the next closest candidate, bringing in 48 per cent of the ballots cast.

The NDP had almost 32 per cent of votes, and the Liberals took home nearly 15 per cent.

The race features six candidates.

Erica Charlton, Green Party

Erica Charltonwas born and raised in the area of Bay of Quinte, graduated from Carleton with a degree in law and psychology, and is now transitioning to a career in IT.

Charlton ran for the federal Green Party in the 2021 election.

Rob Collins, New Blue

The New Blue candidate was born and raised in Belleville and the Quinte region.

He ran his family business until starting a career in firefighting, and served as chief officer in a number of municipalities.

Alison Kelly, NDP

Alison Kelly is a school board trustee for Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board.

She is also a volunteer on-air host and DJ with a community radio stationand serves as a member of the Accessibility Advisory Committee for the Corporation of Prince Edward.

Emilie Leneveu, Liberal Party

Emilie Leneveu is running as the Liberal candidate. (Twitter)

Emilie Leneveuis a director on the Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair Board, and a member of the Centre for Workforce Development Board.

She is also an advocate for positive mental well-being and a speaker through Jack.org.

Todd Smith, Progressive Conservative*

Todd Smith represented Prince Edward Hastings from 2011-2018 and Bay of Quinte since 2018.

He's a New Brunswick native and former radio journalist.

Noah Wales, Ontario Party

The Ontario Party candidate says he wants to defend free speech and avoid constant lockdowns.
