History

This is the most easterly riding that's completely within the City of Ottawahas an urban/rural mix.

Its boundaries are between Mitch Owens Road,Boundary Road andDevine Road tothe south, the Ottawa River to thenorth,between Ted Kelly Lane,Frank Kenny Road,Wall Road,Tenth Line Road,Carlsbad Lane andFrontier Rd to the east and Ramsayville Road,Highway 417,Innes Road,Blair Road,Highway174 andGreen's Creek to the west.

The riding includes the neighbourhoods of Orleans, Queenswood Heights, Blackburn Hamlet and Convent Glen. It no longerincludes the neighbourhoods of Cardinal Heights and Beacon Hill south thanks to the redrawing of Canada's ridings map.

Orleans has a significant francophone and bilingual population. In 2011 census, 30.7 per cent of its population identified French as theirmother tongue.
