Ottawa councillor Jody Mitic releases military memoir

Ottawa city councillorJody Miticdescribes his time as a Canadian Armed Forces sniper in Afghanistan and the personal battles hefaced back home inCanada after losing both legs in a landmine explosion in his military memoirUnflinching: The Making of a Canadian Sniper.

The book, launched Thursday night at the Canadian War Museum, details his struggle withdepression and how he overcame an addiction toOxycontinfollowing the war.

Less than eight years later, Miticwas elected to his first term as councillor for Ottawa's Innesward in October 2014.
