NCC closes several flooded paths

The National Capital Commission is warning that many of its trails are still under water.

The National Capital Commission is warning that many of its trails are still under water.

Ottawa closures

These paths are flooded and closed as of Tuesday, May 21:

  • The Parliament Hill Pathway from the Rideau Canal locks to the Fleet Street parking lot to the west and St. Patrick Street to the east..
  • The Ottawa River lower eastern pathway.
  • The South Pathway from Dominion station to Maplelawn Garden.
  • The western section of the Ottawa River Pathway is closed from LeBreton Flats to Mud Lake and from Carlingto Greenviewavenues.
  • The Mud Lake trails near Cassels Street and the water treatment plant.
  • Bate Island is closed, so are the Champlain and Deschnes parking lots.
  • In the greenbelt, Trail 42 is closed from sections B to E.
  • Trail 10 is closed near the bridge.
  • The Greenbelt parking lots at Corkstownand Rifleroads is also closed.

More closures in Quebec

Many of these trails are under water.

They include several sections ofthe Voyageurs Pathway and a southern stretch of the Champlain Corridor.

The pathway had already been closed from the Canadian Museum of History to the Portage Bridge for construction work.

The Gatineau River pathway is closed between the Rapibus corridor and boulevard Fournier.

The Leamy Lake and Leamy Creek area is closed.

The parkways are open for the summer, but several trails are best avoided, said the NCC: numbers, 6, 8, 17, 18, 21, 23, 28, 37, 38 and the veryhard section of 54.

Many other sections are quite muddy.
