Paris attacks: Ottawa mother thankful son uninjured attending Bataclan concert

An Ottawa woman says she can't wait to hug her son and "never let go" after he escaped the Paris attacks uninjured while attending a concert.

Wendy Morgan spoke with host Robyn Bresnahan on CBC Radio's Ottawa Morningon Tuesday about how relieved she was to speak with her son Patrick after the attacks.

He was attending a concert by the band, Eagles of Death Metal, at the Bataclan concert hall when attackers stormed the venue on Friday.

Morgan says she did not know her son was at the concert hall when she attended a concert of her own in Ottawa on Friday night.

"The city of Paris has millions of people and [I thought] there's not a huge likelihood he'll be involved anywhere near the violence," Morgan said.

She said she received a text that night from her son saying he and his girlfriend were at the Bataclan when the attacks took place, but they had escaped and were safe.

"I just can't describe my emotions. They were so turned up. It was such a close call," she said.
