Ottawa police say the issue of gangs in the city is a complex problem, and one they can't solve alone.

Ottawa police say dealing withgangs in the city is a complex problem, and one they can't solve alone.

There are about 500 gang members in Ottawa, according to police, and last yearOttawa police investigated a record 49 shootings.

Speaking at the police services board meeting Monday night and again on Tuesday on Ottawa Morning, police chief Charles Bordeleau said police enforcement and gang exit strategies are just some of the strategies that need to be considered.
