Rental car linked to Yusuf Ibrahim homicide found, police say

Ottawa police have released pictures of a black Dodge Charger rental vehicle they believe is connected to the fatal shooting in February of gang member Yusuf Ibrahim, and are asking anyone who saw it on Feb. 6 to speak to police.

Ottawa police have released pictures of a black Dodge Charger rental vehiclethey believe is connected to the fatal shooting in February of gang member Yusuf Ibrahim, and are asking anyone who saw it on Feb. 6 to speak to police.

Ibrahim, 27, was shot dead inside a home on Forestglade Crescent, near Hunt Club and Hawthorne roads, at about 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 6.

A source told CBC News he was shot multiple times in the back and was found on a couch.

Police had earlier released video showing the Dodge Charger driving at high speed in the area of Hunt Club Road and Blohm Drive with three people inside.

Investigators are aware of the person who rented the vehicle and he is a person of interest, according to the major crimes unit.

Police had also released photos of three men who used taxicabs to and from 181 Forestglade Cresc.the same morning but said those men are not considered to be the occupants of the car.

Anyone with information about the rentalvehicleor the individuals inside is asked to call the major crimes unit at 613-236-1222, ext.5493. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Investigators also want to speak to anyone who saw Ibrahim on the evening of Feb. 5. He was seen at a ByWard Market bar that night, police said.
