The microcondo has become a thrifty, space-efficient way for couples to live in theirneighbourhood of choice for a lower price.

Buildings full of microcondos are being built in downtown Ottawa where Murphy beds and other tools are used to make maximum use of each square metre.

That wasthe focus of a discussion during Thursday'sOntario TodayonCBC Radio One. At 12:30 p.m. ET, developer David Wex joined usfor alive web chat, which you can look through below.

Wex is a partner at Urban Capital and the developer behind Smart House Ottawa and Smart House in Toronto. The smallest space in these buildings is 315 square metres and the cost is about $179,000.
