Woman dead after collision on Hwy 17

A woman is dead after the car she was driving collided head on with a snowplow on Highway 17 west of Renfrew Tuesday morning.

A woman is dead after the car she was driving collided head on with a snowplow on Highway 17west ofRenfrew Tuesday morning.

Lucienne Webb, 60, of Pembroke, Ont., was killed in the collision, which happened at about 7:45 a.m. east of Chenaux Road near Haley Station.

Police said Webb was travelling in her car going east when her vehicle collided with an operating snowplow travelling west. Police said it was snowing at the time of the collision.

The driver of the snowplow was not injured.

Police reopened the affected section of highway by 3:30 p.m.

No charges are expected to be laid in connection with the crash, police said.
